Description
I turned this bowl from the wood of a dead sycamore tree. The tree had shed much of its bark, exposing the wood beneath. I was able to retain the bark during the turning, so the rim of the bowl is the natural surface of the trunk. The piece was cut from a crotch, where a large branch joined the trunk. There is some crotch figure, and also some early spalting. The bowl is quite large, and would hold a lot of fruit!
