Spalted beech box, 9.5 cm

Description

I turned this box from beechwood that came from a tree that fell in a storm. It was a big tree, rotted at the base of the trunk, but further up the wood was beautifully spalted. The fungus created wandering dark lines and zones of colour. The lid came from higher still, where the fungus had not reached. This box is 9.5 cm tall, including its lid. The lid is loosely fitted, so the box can be opened easily with one hand. The price is for one box.
