Description

This is one of a series of bowls that I turned from the wood of a big beech tree. Spalting is the affect of fungus that begins to break down the wood before it dries. This bowl has the zones of colour and meandering black lines typical of the result in beech, which spalts better than any other common timber. It is comparatively chunky, with thicker walls.
