Spalted beech bowl, 21 cm

Description

This is one of a number of bowls that I turned from a branch of a big beech tree that fell in a storm. I left the branches in the woods, covered with dead leaves to prevent it drying, until fungus had begun to break down the wood, creating a network of fine black lines and zones of colour typical of spalted beech.
