Description
This shallow bowl or platter is one of a series that I am turning from some planks that I got from a local tree worker. The tree was removed for house redevelopment some years ago. Oak normally has a pale colour, but if it is colonised by beefsteak fungus it takes on a rich brown colour. The wood is sought after for its colour. Its sapwood remains pale.
