Plumwood bowl, 22 cm

Description

This bowl is made of plumwood from a Hampstead tree that fell in a storm, crushing a parked car as it did so. The freshly cut wood has vivid red/purple streaks, though they may fade to a rich red/brown with time. This bowl is 22 cm in diameter and has an area of pale sapwood. There are a number of small slightly porous spots. It could be used for fruit.
