These mice are made from timber reclaimed from an old table. The wood had been heavily stained to resemble mahogany. When it was cleaned up, I realised that the stain was only skin deep. The wood is not mahogany, but I’ve never come across it before. What it is I don’t know, which is why I call these Mystery Mice. It has a grey-brown colour with pink streaks, some rippled grain, and a speckled appearance that is very attractive. The mice are approximately 5 cm long and have tails and ears made from leather off-cuts.
