These wooden mice are 7 cm from their noses to the beginning of their tails. I made them of spalted hornbeam. Hornbeam is a tree like beech, and the wood is normally tough, fine-grained and pale in colour. But this has a very prominent figure, with a pale colour, strong black lines and some darker areas. Here is some information about spalted timber. The timber came from hornbeam woodland not far from my studio. The log had lain for some time, because the spalting had spread right through it.
The price is for one of the mice.
