This bowl is one of a series I made from an oak log from local woodland. I turned it while the wood was still green, or unseasoned. After turning, the wood dried and distorted, taking on an organic appearance, with surface texture. It has an undulating rim, small areas of burr formation, a large cracked knot and some signs of insect damage. The bowl is 31 cm across, and would make an impressive fruit bowl.
I have also made some wooden mice from this timber.
