Description
I made this bowl from an unseasoned oak log from local woodland. It is 22.5 cm across its widest point. As it dried after turning, the bowl distorted and developed surface texture. Wood boring insects affected the timber while the tree was still standing, and the bowl has some small holes left by them. It also has a network of tunnels inside the walls which show as long streaks on the surface, breaking through in some places. It would make an unusual fruit bowl with an interesting organic feel to it.
