I turned this bowl from a small oak log. It is 17 cm across. The wood was unseasoned and I turned it while it was still green. This allowed the bowl to warp a little as it dried. The dead tree was cut down after it had been standing for some time. During this period it was attacked by wood boring insects. Their tunnels are visible on the surface where the tools cut into them, so this is not a bowl for moist food.
