This green turned holly bowl is 20 cm across. Holly has a pale colour, in this case with some darker shading. As it dried after turning, the bowl changed shape, becoming oval, with a wavy rim. It has a small knot, with a small fissure across it, and some textured, tactile areas where the grain distorted. The foot has some decorative beads applied. This bowl would hold small items, but I see it as primarily a decor piece.
These green-turned bowls have a distorted, organic look, and are not for everyone. I like them – do you?
