Elm bowl with bark rim, 26 cm

I turned this bowl from a plank cut with a chainsaw mill. It came from a standing dead tree that had shed part of its bark. I was able to retain the remaining bark, so the rim consists of the natural surface of the log. It could be used for fruit. Elm is an uncommon species in England, due to the Dutch elm disease that decimated the trees in the 1980s.
