Description
This is a bowl that I turned from a tree that was taken down because it was growing too close to a house. It had some burr figure, visible in this piece. The little knots making up the burr have a lot of small fissures, so this is not a salad bowl. At some point a nail was hammered into the trunk. Metal reacts with tannin in the wood, staining it black. The stain ran up the trunk and through this bowl.
