Brown mouse

Description

These mice are turned from brown oak. This is the timber from an oak tree that has been affected by a particular kind of fungus. Instead of the normal spalting patterns that many fungi cause, this fungus colours the wood brown. This example is an unusually rich, dark chocolate colour. The mice are 6.5 cm long, not counting their tails.
