This beechwood bowl is 17.5 cm across. I roughed it out in 2010, and it’s been slowly drying since then. I recently came across it again and finished it. It has an attractive mid-brown colour, with some paler areas caused by early stage spalting. It could be used for a variety of purposes, but it has a small hole right through the side made by a wood boring insect before the log was cut, so is not really suitable for moist food.
