Ashwood bowl with seashell inlay, 17 cm

Description

I gave this otherwise simple bowl a band of inlay at the rim. It consists of finely crushed mussel shell from a beach in Scotland. The wood has patches of darker wood at opposite sides of the rim. This coloured ash is often called olive ash. Ash and olive are related species.
