This is a green turned bowl made of apple wood. I turned it from unseasoned wood, freshly fallen and full of sap. It is approximately 16 cm across. You can read about green turning here. Bowls made like this distort as they dry, and this is a good example. It has a thin wall with a wavy rim, and is no longer round. Its surface has a leathery texture caused by differential shrinkage. This bowl was made from a forked branch, and shows some crotch figure and some small cracks.
It’s a highly tactile piece, with a very organic look.
